A tooth!!! Oh, wait... Where'd it go?

Avery Marie will be 5 months on May 7th! I cannot believe it!!
She is wearing 6 months clothes!! And eating baby food like crazy.
She went to the gastro doctor last week & was put on a new formula called Elecare. (Smells terrible!) And a new reflux medicine. She has been spitting up less frequently & not as disgusting... So fingers crossed that this will work!

I have been trying so hard to write down every single little milestone & take pictures galore! (With Hunter, I was so young, I wrote down a lot, but still not enought :-/ so I vowed to myself to do better with this one.)
So one morning I see a white spot on her bottom right side of her mouth... I freak out, text everyone & write it in her baby book... I brag to everyone who will listen that my babygirl FINALLY cut a tooth!
Two days later (today) it is gone! So, confused, I write this in her baby book. Sometimes I feel like a first time mom all over again.... Motherhood is so confusing!!
Hope you enjoy the pictures from the last few days!

Bluebonnets

So, I know everyone goes out and takes pictures with the Blubonnets here in Texas... But my story is funny, so keep reading.
We find a decent "patch" of Bluebonnets. (I say patch because I wasn't going to go searching for hours to find a field... ) It's just not happening with a grumpy 4 year old & a high maintainence 4- month old!

So we get out of the car & find a spot that has been sat on already for a nice smooth spot for the kiddos. When suddenly Hunter (my grumpy 4 year old) announces there are "Bees everywhere!!" - Now, you need to know something about my little Hunter. Don't let his name fool you. He is quite the opposite. Terrified of anything that flies, remotely looks like it might be a bug, or jumps close to him. Yes, even ladybugs.

Hunter screams & is held all the way back to the car. Where he decides to slam his door & lock us outside. OK, so we lost Hunter for the pictures.

So, Avery, Cody & I take a few pictures. They turn out alright. And we try to get Hunter back out for another one... More crying. Poor thing. Maybe one day he will be more of a boy, but for now, Avery already beats him at that :)

Possum Kingdom Lake

My husband's family owns a cute cabin down at Possum Kingdom lake. So, being from "the city" we go out there at any chance we get.

This time was Avery's first time!! And she LOVED it. We took a small blow-up pool for her & Hunter to play in on the patio... which ended up being too cold to actually sit in, but not too cold to stick our piggies in :)
Hunter played with my brother-in-law's dog, a sweet-as-can-be pit named Sadie... Who Avery was completely fascinated with! He threw tennis balls & frizbees at her, they had lots of fun.

The men (my hubby & his brother) were the cooks & fire-keepers. And Crystal (my sister-in-law) & I were in charge of the kiddos & cleaning haha.

We had a lot of fun, especially when the kids passed out (after a long day's worth of playing) extremely early & we played games & laughed.

It was so nice to get out of the hustle & bustle of Fort Worth... Cody & I are truly considering a big move, somewhere gorgeous. Somewhere that you can see those stars that are always in the sky just invisible to us city folks haha.

Easter

We woke up this morning, as usual, to Avery's beautiful voice saying (in her own language) GET UP!! I'M HUNGRY! So I trudged to the kitched yawning multiple times to fix her a morning bottle. I trudged back and that is when it happened. The dreaded phone call from Cody's mom asking us to go to church for Easter Sunday. Now, I promise that I am a good person & I pray to God every single day. We have a relationship, but I have not been to church in almost 5 years... So I reluctantly agreed to go this time.
We showered & got Avery ready in her cute Easter dress (within 5 seconds she had spit up on it) oh well, she had to leave her mark somehow... (Hunter was unfortunately at his dad's for the weekend) So there were just three of us that had to get ready... We were late, of course but this church seemed very laid back. We walk in & everyone is greeting us, shaking our hands, commenting on my beautiful daughter :) I automatically felt comfortable there. They say contemporary songs and the Pastor was hilarious and really made everyone pay attention. (I'm sorry, I was raised Catholic... 100% but oh my gosh it was boring & repetitive) NOT THIS CHURCH! On our way out, we got a Bible for promising we'd return soon.

After church we went to Cody's grandparents house (We call her Grammy) for Easter egg hunting (still, we missed Hunter, but weren't going to sit around & pout all day for Avery's first Easter) So we took Avery outside (her favorite place) and put her little piggies in the pool!! She LOVED it!

Then, we went to pick Hunter up FINALLY! And went to my dad's house to see what the Easter bunny had brought us. My dad, well, isn't the type of grandpa that calls & begs for us to come over. It is quite the opposite actually... me, calling him asking if it is okay for us to stop by... Anyways, long story short, we go over there & toss the football around for awhile. Hunter LOVES it over there :)

Then came home to see what the Easter bunny had left for the kiddos...

Overall, a very busy but fun Easter! Next year Hunter will be with us & Avery will know what is going on! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter :)

The Kiddos (Feb-March 2010)

Since I haven't written much about the kiddos, I'm going to dedicate an entire post to them :)

First, Hunter Riley. He is 4 (will be 5 August 29th) and is growing so fast! He LOVES playing with action figures: spiderman, wrestlers, batman, you get the picture. He is a real boy most of the time, jumping off furniture (yes, he gets in trouble for that), running through the house (yet another no-no), screaming, etc. etc. etc.... Then there are times when he is a little mama's boy... telling me I look pretty & wanting me to paint his toenails (not pink like mine, but orange).

He LOVES video games (keeping them G rated of course) and Nick Jr.. He will be starting Kindergarten in August! I cannot believe it. But he is ready & it will be so good for him. He is very smart. He knows all of his letters & is starting to try and spell words. He loves playing the rhyming words/ opposites games. And loves activity books (mazes & word searches). He likes playing baseball & might be starting next season at the YMCA.

Avery Marie will be 4 months old on April 7th... We can't believe she has grown so fast! It feels like just yesterday she was born. If you read yesterday's post, you know that she turned over all by herself for the first time. That was very exciting. She is trying to "self-soothe" now, holding her paci by herself. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is to us. She has slept through the night for a while now (thank God because Hunter still doesn't-he usually wakes up sometime... of course, he goes back to sleep, but still).
She has started teething already (unfortunately). And is constantly "eating her hands". She is a little diva already & Hunter calls her a drama queen. They love watching Yo Gabba Gabba together (a very creepy show in my opinion- it is on Nick Jr. though so I know it is encouraging some kind of learning).

We took Avery to her first trip to the zoo not too long ago & she didn't really understand of course, but she LOVES being outside, so it was fun.... Too bad we got a flat tire :(

She is laughing now when you tickle her especially. It is too cute.
The only sad part of the kids growing up (besides I wish they would stay little forever) is not having their Grandpa's... I know they are both looking down on them, but I would have loved for them to see the kids grow up-because oh my gosh, it is so much fun!
Hope everyone has a wonderful sunny day! (It is 77 degrees right now & very pretty outside here in Ft. Worth).
